Take a Shelter/Union/Displacement Ritualist and a monk, not the greatest damage, but you can make it through fairly easily, small headaches...mostly when the warrior can't hold aggro.
Um, a person in my guild said he got 5 ecto drops in one run of the quest. I think they drop as often as they do in Tombs...which isn't a lot.

Not everything should have a reward at the end and hell, its a festival mission so the aim is fun fun fun.

It's not so much that the reward sucked, it was that there's no sense of completion at all. There's not even so much as a boss in the whole thing. After beating it the game basically says "You win! Bye!", tosses you out, puts you right back where you started, and acts like nothing at all happened. It's not always necessary to hand out special items all the time, but the least they can do is have an interesting end and a little acknowledgement.

I would have rather had a huge boss battle like Shiro except actually make it hard. I mean I dropped him in like 1:38 on the first day/prelaunch.. :/

IIRC, after you close the last portal, it says something about taking you to the "next mission".....but you're warped back to Shing Jea Monestary and Rujiyo still gives out the same quest. So either ANet made this for a fun little mini-mission that sort of ties in with PvE Tombs in Prophecies or there's a bug preventing us from doing the next part(s).

I'm still wondering if they made some secret reward at the end of the event for completing this... oh well, I figure I'll try to beat it sooner or later even if the reward's gimp.

Wow. I joined a PUG just to see what this was like. I usually go straight healing, so this bonding / boon prot build was completely new to me. We finished it. It was fun. Here's a screenshot of the "reward" at the end. Names left in with permission. If you are going for a reward beyond the challenge of gratification of completing it, I don't suggest this mission, but otherwise, it's fun. And I enjoyed the people I was with as well.

I think it's absolutely hilarious that so many players are complaining about this mission. I've even seen players that have said they're going to each district announcing in global chat about how this new mission is "worthless" because "it only gives you 50 orbs". Does everything that ANet introduces FOR FREE into this game need to have new greens or UBAR DROPZ associated with it? I mean, don't players still do quests and missions for fun anymore?
Not to mention, did just about everyone miss the part at the end that talks about transporting the party to the "next mission"? Could it be possible that there's a bug in the mission preventing us from playing the whole thing? Nah, never....ANet just tries to kill all of the fun of playing the game by introducing a new mission and giving us "lame" rewards. <insert rolling eyes smiley here>
I'm sure I'll be flamed by more than one user here due to my opinion, but that will just add to the hilarity. So flame away if you like!
